Mark Plaatjes, RPT

Mark holds a Bachelor of Science and Pre-medicine from University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa) in 1984 and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa)1987.  Mark has continued to stay on top of all of the latest research and treatment options by taking continuing education courses and attending conferences every year.  Mark recently became licensed in Systemic Integrative Dry Needling from Dr. Lin-tau Ma in 2008.  When treating active individuals, Mark understands how important it is to get back moving and works aggressively toward that goal.  He is a world-renowned runner as well who held the marathon world champion title in 1993 and has won over 20 major marathons.  Today Mark continues to run non-competitively and coaches a small group of runners called Gijma.  To stay fit, Mark spends much time playing golf with his wife Shirley.

Heather North PT, DPT

Heather holds  a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado in 2008 and a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Pre-Medicine from Colorado College in 2001.  Heather’s focus is on sports medicine and orthopaedic/manual therapy physical therapy.  She believes that it is important to continue to learn the newest and most up to date techniques.  Heather’s philosophy revolves around getting patients recovered quickly and teaching them to sustain a healthy state.  In July of 2010 Heather became licensed in Dry Needling from Dr. Lin-tau Ma at the Biomedical Acupuncture Institute.  Heather’s philosophy revolves around getting patients recovered quickly and teaching them to sustain a healthy state.

When not in the clinic, Heather enjoys road/trail running, mountain biking, coaching for BOLD Running, and spending time in the mountains with her husband Ewen.  She regularly competes in races all over including the Pikes Peak Marathon.  Check out the core classes Heather teaches on Monday nights at www.boldrunning.com that are open to anyone.

Shirley Plaatjes CMT,ANMT

Shirley Plaatjes has been practicing massage for over 10years, with a dedicated list of elite athletes, business professionals and everyday citizens who depend on her healing hands to maintain balance in mind and body. In addition to her CMT, Shirley also completed advance neuromuscular techniques 1 and 2, in which receiving the ” Iron Thumb Award” from the Center of Advanced Therapeutics in 1998.An avid golfer, incredible mother and coach in Mark’s running group Gijima, are a few things on the list of Shirley’s continual efforts to grow and find new ways to nurture and heal all those around her.
